Rowing Machine Reviews

Reading different rowing machine reviews is a great way to get comparative information before you actually go out and start testing the different models. Rowing machine reviews should give you some basic information about the equipment, plus, if they are unbiased consumer write-ups, opinions about the quality.

What rowing machine reviews won't tell you is what a great workout you'll get from one of these machines. The combination of muscle toning (they work your legs, hip, back, arms, shoulders and abs) while providing a cardio workout that burns up to 800 calories per hour is almost unmatched.

When you start looking at different models, the biggest difference you'll find is between the cheap ones, which typically use hydraulic pistons, and the wind bladed models.

Those that use hydraulic pistons are not only not as smooth as the wind bladed models, they are also far less reliable. If you intend to give the machine regular vigorous use, opt for the higher quality of a wind bladed model.

Wind bladed models range in price from around ?600 to in excess of ?2000 - if your budget is tight, look carefully at the options on the different models. Once you have isolated a quality model that offers smoothness and durability, the difference in price between different models will typically be a reflection of the electronic bells and whistles.

While some of these are nice to have (pre-set programmes or a heart rate monitor for example), it is the quality of the machine that will ultimately determine how good your workouts are.
