The Power Plate works by delivering irregular vibrations in all three "planes of movement" (horizontal, vertical and circular) and helps exercise by forcing the muscle to "fight" the vibrations. This makes whatever exercise is being done up to nine times more intense on a Power Plate than it otherwise would be, allowing the user to have a deeper and more penetrating work-out in only a fraction of the time it would normally take. It's like pushing the fast forward button as you do your workout: you do one stomach crunch, squat or triceps dip and your body has effectively done nine!
A typical PowerPlate workout will only take 25 minutes from warm-up to cool down and consist of a 5 minute warm-up, 10 minute whole-body exercise routine, 5 minute stretching/massage and 5 minute cool-down. The effects this will have on the body will easily equate to spending an hour and a half working hard in the gym.
There are an infinite number of exercises that you can do on the PowerPlate. Our favourites include the squat, where you stand on the PowerPlate, feet apart and hold onto the handlebars, while sitting back. It's great for the quads, calves, glutes and hamstrings. Another great exercise is the lat dip, where you sit on the edge of the PowerPlate, with your hands shoulder width apart and then slowly lift your hips off the machine; this exercise is great for the upper and middle back.
The PowerPlate comes with full instructions detailing these and many other exercises.
Home Gym Equipment can supply the PowerPlate and a full range of Vibration Training machines.
