Treadmill Workouts

 

While working out on a treadmill indoors is not renowned for being the most exciting of exercises, using a good quality treadmill has a number of benefits over running outside. The British climate is not the best condition to be running in, slippery roads could lead to injury, whilst the cold windy air can affect your breathing and overall performance. Working out on a treadmill provides you with a flat running surface and the more advanced treadmills have sophisticated shock absorbent systems to reduce the impact suffered by the body. Keeping yourself entertained while working out on the treadmill helps to take your mind off of what you are actually doing, helping you to increase the time spent on the treadmill. So position your treadmill in front of a TV or play your favourite album to get the most out of the time spent working out.

Most treadmills come with a variety of different workout programmes. Making the most of these programs will help to increase your fitness levels over a shorter period of time than just jumping on the treadmill and using the manual settings. It is important when purchasing a treadmill to ensure it has a number of heart rate interactive programs. HR programs ensure you get the most out of your treadmill by keeping you within the correct HR zone.
