Reebok International Limited was originally called J.W. FOSTER & SONS. The company was founded in Bolton, United Kingdom, in 1895 and is now one of the top producer of athletic footwear, apparel, and accessories and is currently a subsidiary of Adidas. The Reebok brand focuses on three product lines:
Rbk - this line features street footwear, apparel, and accessories
Performance - includes apparel and footwear designed for basketball, running, fitness, football, soccer, tennis, and other sports.
Classic - includes footwear and apparel products, as well as classic reinterpretations.
In August 2005, one of the company's largest rivals, Adidas, announced that it would acquire Reebok for $12.8 billion. The deal was completed in January 2006.It maintains its relationship with its origins in England through a long-term sponsorship deal with Bolton Wanderers, a Premiership football club. When the team moved to a brand new ground in the late-1990s, their new home was named the Reebok Stadium.
Today, Reebok International Ltd. has approximately 6,000 employees worldwide. Reebok, after more than 20 years of spectacular growth around the world, has focused on even greater accomplishments, continued innovation and boundless excitement.
