For many people, steps and decks have become an indispensable part of fitness.

- Make sure it's strong - most are made from high-density polyethylene and can support up to around 200 lbs.
- Make sure it's secure - the surface needs to have a slip-proof, durable mat on top, and non-marking rubber pads underneath.
- Make sure it's adjustable - the ideal increments are 4, 6, and 8 inches in height.
These aren't expensive, so be sure to choose a good quality model - it will give you years of good use.
