Ankle & Wrist Weights

 

There are lots of different strength accessories to choose from and each can add something a little different to your workout. Ankle and wrist weights are no exception and are a useful tool to aid your strength training.

Strength training is recognised as one of the most important forms of training as it helps you perform everyday tasks and helps the body function effectively as you age. Ankle and wrist weights can be used to aid strength and if you can maintain your strength as you get older your quality of life will benefit greatly.

Ankle and wrist weights are widely available and come in different sizes dependent on weight. You use them by simply wearing them round your ankles or wrists and this provides extra resistance to your workouts.

Usual increments are 0.5kg and there are also some on the market that are adjustable so you can add weight to suit your needs. They usually range in price from ?10 to ?20 so will not break the bank but can be a handy addition to your workouts.

You will want to look for a set that is washable (as they are guaranteed to get sweaty) and has a good secure fixing either with velcro or fastening strap. And of course, above all, they must be comfortable
