Meal Replacement

The meal replacement supplements on the market these days are very different from the flavorless products that were available 20 years ago.

Meal replacements are designed for people who want the benefits of good nutrition, but don't have the time or the facility to get good food when they need it.

Meal replacements are therefore designed to offer the exact ratio of protein, carbohydrates, and fats the body needs, as well as the correct balance of vitamins and minerals.

There are all different types, from bars to powders, in all sorts of flavours. Chocolate is still probably the number one choice, but there are also some great berry flavours, and others designed for those wanting something closer to the flavour of natural foods.

Vegans aren't forgotten either, with many offering soy proteins, or even protein from sources such as hemp or yellow peas.

Of course these are not intended to totally replace your normal diet - you should still be looking to eat a good variety of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and quality protein, but as a substitute for the typical food choices available when you are on the go, they are a big help.
